Joining a Real Estate Association

  • 2 Steps

About

Although passing your state's real estate exam is a significant step, it still does not qualify you as a realtor. You must become a member of the National Association of Realtors, or NAR, in order to obtain that designation. When you join NAR, you automatically become a member of three associations: one at the national, one at the state, and one at the local level. Each of these associations provides you with a number of advantages. Participation in the local multiple listing services is one of the key advantages. To access the MLS, you typically need to be a member. In this module, you'll discover: -Why being a member is required to use the title "Realtor" -The benefits and drawbacks of joining your neighborhood organization initiation costs -Basics of Multiple Listing Service (MLS) -What the NAR does to support the sector
