
The Preservation Resource Center (PRC), in partnership with the City of New Orleans, has launched the Historic Home Repair Grant Program to assist low- to moderate-income homeowners with essential exterior repairs. This initiative aims to preserve the city's historic architecture and support residents in maintaining their homes.
Program Details:
Grant Amount: Eligible homeowners can receive up to $20,000 for exterior repairs.
Eligible Repairs: The grant covers repairs such as:
Roof repair or replacement
Siding or trim repair/replacement
Door, window, or shutter repair/replacement
Eligibility Criteria:
To qualify for the program, homeowners must:
Reside in Orleans Parish
Meet low- to moderate-income requirements as defined by the U.S. Department of Housing & Urban Development.
Own only one property
Ensure the property is at least 50 years old
Confirm the house does not require structural repairs
Applications are processed on a first-come, first-served basis, with priority given based on the project's scope. Interested homeowners can apply online at PRCNO.org/HHRGP or by calling 504.581.7032.
